Or it could inspire you to think about what you can do to leave an impact on the world. To Barbara Peet it means teaching kids through exciting and engaging ways. Barbara Peet is a retired speech therapist. She helps kids with disabilities using toys, instruments, and other forms of kinetic learning. For example, she once brought an Indian instrument called an Santoor. And another time she brought a giant peacock puppet. When you were at school did your teachers ever take the time to bring things like this to the classroom? And when they did you have an easier time learning? It may seem like a small thing, but to kids like my younger sister it was one of the most exciting parts of their week. Barbara Peet has so many toys to to teach these kids it literally fills her whole entire car. You can see her commitment to her job just by looking at the windows of her car.

Do you remember who inspired to become whatever you are today. Whether it may be a doctor, lawyer, artist, and so on. Barbara Peet was inspired by her father who always participated in experiments with her such as making rootbeer and taffy. These experiments were fun and educational. I know, I used the word fun and educational in the same sentence. Whoever knew that could happen? Well, Barbara Peet knew. She knew how boring school could be and how she could make it interesting. Barbara Peet wants to teach the important lesson of being curious. And how kids should never stop wondering “why” ? Asking why is important to understand how things work and how you as an individual can make it better. “Why” is the reason websites, pictures, and books were created. Learning to be curious may be a struggle, but it is an important life lesson.

Barbara Peet used help special needs children of all ages through kinetic learning and experiments. She teaches those kids the importance of asking why. And how they can improve other things by asking questions and becoming curious about the world around them. She improves the Special Needs Society and greatly influences the minds of others. She taught about being curious and being more open. Barbara Peet shows commitment in her work, and teaches everyone the importance of asking why.
